My First Scanned 8mm Film: A Vegas Movie Test
Ooh... I got my 1st scanned 8mm film back from @filmphotographyproject for what will be a Vegas movie project. This was kind of a test of me and the camera. It’s ok. No audio of course, I have plans for that as I shoot more film. Originally posted on Instagram

“Wow!” Pinhole Camera Reveal at Fremont Photo Co
“Wow!” Pinhole Camera Reveal... Such a fun Sunday morning at a workshop hosted by @fremontphotoco with @pinstafanatics, @martin_vanners, Jan, and @therawartcollective showing Pinsta cameras. A group of us got the how-to, then found some cool stuff to photograph with the Pinsta. It uses 4x5 photo paper (not printer paper), and you develop it in minutes inside the camera. It sounds crazy, but it is easy and works great. Everyone has such anticipation when it is time to reveal t

Methodist Church at Bodie State Historic Park
Methodist Church @ Bodie State Historic Park, California 1880s ghost town where 10,000 once lived. It has a WILD history! Some of the California State Parks staff live on site in historic houses from the 1870s and 1880s—single-wall buildings with no insulation, heated by wood-burning stoves and furnaces, in conditions that can drop to around −20°F. Our Golf Rulebook: Never Keep Score
I miss playing 9 with my golf buddy @bobstlaurent - we had our own rules. Never keep score. Ok to rehit if nobody is behind you. After 3 putts pick up and call out “PAR” really loud. Ok to pick up the ball and replace -aka throw it - closer and to the middle of the fairway. Ok to hit from the short T’s. Actually it was ok to do anything except it was NEVER ok to keep score! By the way: Many don’t agree with our rulebook Originally posted on Instagram

Happy 5th Of July!
The camera I am using for my F.I.L.M. project took this beautiful scene from one of my favorite spots in Las Vegas—a disc golf course, baseball field, and splash pad park. This photo was taken with a Lomography Simple Use 35mm camera, which costs less than $30 (and even includes a roll of film). If you're interested in trying film photography, I think this is a fantastic way to start. The camera is incredibly simple to use—nothing is adjustable. All you need to do is point, c

The Waiting Is The Hardest Part
It might not be the hardest part but in photography it can help to wait. Here is my story of this photo Berries at the Downtown Summerlin Farmers Market, Las Vegas Downtown Summerlin Farmers Market, Las Vegas This is a good example of doing two things I should do more often with my photography. 1) Ask ‘what if?’ In this case, I really liked the berries, and that was the photo I wanted. Ok, but stop and think. Asking - what if - there was something else in the frame to make it

I’m Walking Backwards
I started walking backwards. No not all the time! I do it at a park when I walk about 1.5 to 2 miles on kind of a track. It is a really short track, about 0.1 miles, and I do about half a lap backwards. I had a really annoying IT band problem on my left hip. Walking backwards has helped and lots of stretching is also in my mix. In addition to that I think it has improved my balance and overall flexibility. I walk slower when I go backwards and I really feel different muscles

Photos > Radio New Thing New Focus
I had my old BigRick.com page up for a long time. I used it as a place to tell my story and have samples of what I did in radio. The focus was to help get job offers. That never happened. My ship had sailed and it was a good sail I might add! It got depressing to update things on my webpage. But... This new launch of BigRick.com will be unfocused on radio and trying to get a job :) I am looking forward to sharing my photos here and using the blog for some fun stuff and info
